题识：达摩面壁图，据《传灯录》载南天竺国，香至王第三子达摩于梁武帝，普通元年（公元五0二年）渡海，来到南梁首都近业，与梁武帝谈佛不投契，离梁北上到北魏在嵩山少林寺住下，整日整夜面壁而坐，宋代名僧普济在《五灯会元》中写道初祖菩提达摩大师，寓之嵩山少林寺，面壁而坐，终日黯然，人莫之测，谓壁观婆罗门，到此静修，九年清代姚元之作《竹叶杂记》中更作了，形容神化谓石壁上，至今还俨然见不活达摩之姿态，后人致敬达摩，静悟摩理之精神，石壁功深成语由此产生。立镇画于寺中。钤印：丁、立镇书画、三镇居士、长风画室、丁立镇
