Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong blue and white dragons motif porcelain censer on stand. The porcelain potted in a compressed globular body, slightly short neck with flaring opening mouth rim, rising to a banded rim, raised upon a three conical low legs, emerging u-shape handles on the left and right side on the upper mouth rim. The exterior decorated with five claws imperial dragon soaring amidst flames and vapors, with face and upper right appendage outstretched toward the heavens. Vigorous dragons chasing flaming pearl amidst flames against cobalt blue scrolling clouds diaper. The backdrop depicts swirling wind and fire painted atop a beautiful white underglaze. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-Shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. Elegantly presented upon a carved hardwood stand with archaic ruyi pattern. There is not any overlap of the outlines, its well carved, clear, subtle, and distinct. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six underglaze blue seal script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
