Extraordinary, Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong gilt bronze dragon motif lidded box. A gilt bronze circular box, of a compressed globular domed lid and round grooved rim. Gilt bronze has been worked into an intricate design, depicting medallion carved with archaic Chinese myth beast among scrolling tendril and foliage, enclosed with thick gilt ring line on the top dome panel. Flowers blooms and fresh foliage carved on the outer center medallion. The dome lid side exterior carved with various flowers blooms, banded and enclosed with repeating key fret pattern on the rim. The exterior main body carved with big flowers blooms interspersed with foliage and geometric pattern, banded and enclosed with repeating key fret pattern on the rim. The gilt bronze is bright and lustrous as the light is easily reflected from the well-polished surfaces. The plaques split in the middle section, and fitted perfectly upon each other. There is a light grey patina noted in several creases. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a four raised script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of Qianlong Reign Period.
