Chinese Qing Dynasty Yongzheng red Dragon and blue clouds motif porcelain willow vase. Potted with a wide bulbous lower belly, the globular body with rounded shoulder, tall cylindrical neck further to flared rim, raised on slight concaved foot base. All reserved in clean white and turquoise underglaze base color which contrast against the blue and iron red fine color. The main body adorned with snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-Shui waves in a iron red color dragon squama rounded the vase to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames, and repeating interlocking taotie mask decorated on the upper mouth rim, enclosed with double fine blue rings lines. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-Shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. The Lines of the drawings are clear, the light and dark shades are subtle. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a vertical six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine blue rings lines, Made In The Years of Yongzheng Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
