Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Period Lotus pod porcelain reward vase. The porcelain potted with a bulbous lower belly, thick, the globular body with rounded shoulder, tall cylindrical neck further to open bowl head shape, raised on small round, with slight concaved foot base. Characterized with seven holes on the opening mouth, simulating lotus pod. All reserved covered in an even coat of a pale grayish glaze which terminates at the base to reveal the white underglaze. The grayish glaze creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the underglaze grayish-brown concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep grayish-black. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six underglaze blue seal script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
