Stunning, Chinese Ming Dynasty blue and white dragon porcelain jar. The shape having thick potted body, large and sturdily potted in a bulbous body, gently tapered on shoulder toward prominent straight neck with opening, raised on round flat base. All reserved in famille jaune underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt fine blue color. The exterior adorned with five claws imperial dragon soaring amidst flames and vapors, with face and upper right appendage outstretched toward the heavens. Vigorous dragons chasing flaming pearl amidst flames against cobalt blue scrolling clouds diaper. The backdrop depicts swirling wind and fire painted atop a beautiful white underglaze. The shoulder and the foot base decorated with geometric and auspicious pattern, enclosed with double fine dark green rings lines. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the base left unglazed with grayish creme-brown ground and dark spots of firing marks. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, and the carving. Without overlap the outlines of the design, well carved, clear, subtle, distinct, and the shape is uniformly proportioned.
