鼻烟壶以丝瓜为形，藤蔓、叶片自然垂落一侧，巧借金黄皮色雕作瓜叶、天牛，有画龙点睛之效。壶身一面阴刻“黄花褪束绿身长，白结丝包困晓霜”，语出宋赵梅隐《咏丝瓜》，形意相合；另面落“絸园雅玩”款识，金质壶勺亦镌“絸园主人”。絸园主人即柴莲青，此园位于苏州醋库巷，原由其父柴安圃购入，并辟园林，于光绪九年（1883）落成，人呼柴园。柴安圃卒后，柴莲青改称为絸园，自号絸园主人。拍品配翡翠壶盖，黄金壶勺，极尽华丽之能事。
