“泽出神马”为传统祥瑞之兆，象征帝王有德，故备受宫廷青睐，元代雕制的渎山大玉海外壁即有浮雕的海马形象。至明代，海马题材愈发流行，广泛运用于瓷器、掐丝珐琅、织绣等类别御用器物之上，拍品即为此一风尚之例证。玉坠以圆雕、透雕、阴刻等技法，刻画一匹神马踏浪奔腾。海马身形健硕，脚踏汹涌波涛，动感十足。马背设天地穿孔直抵于海浪底部，便于结绳佩戴。
