A group of 2 Chinese famille rose porcelain cups with 4-character marks on the bottoms and dating from 19th century. The cups are decorated with 2 portraits, 2 poems, and 3 figures in a courtly landscape on one. Dimensions are: 2 1/4 inches tall X 4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is a miniscule rim chip and a hairline crack in 1, the other is in good condition. Provenance: From the estate of Albert T Quon in Beverly Hills, CA. Mr. Quon was born in China and came to US as a teenager. He graduated from USC in 1928 and established a successful import/export business in both China and the US. He was the first Chinese American to purchase property in Beverly Hills. He also became the first Asian admitted to the Los Angeles Rotary Club, and the first Asian to serve on the Board of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. He donated millions of dollars to his Alma mater, USC. There is a statue of him on USC campus and a classroom was named after him.
