提要：黄檗高泉，也称高泉性潡。（1633-1695）清初僧。福建福州府福清人，俗姓林。字高泉。号云外。又称昙华道人。十三岁出家，登福建黄檗山，师事慧门如沛禅师，并嗣其法。二十九岁（1661），奉隐元隆琦之命东渡日本，入宇治万福寺。未久，住奥州法云寺，并掌理摄津佛日寺，再兴加贺献珠寺，受藩主前田之归依。其后，归返宇治，屡入宫中说法。延宝三年（1675）撰扶桑禅林僧宝传十卷，翌年，又编东国高僧传十卷。元禄五年（1692）继为黄檗山第五世法席。八年示寂，世寿六十三。敕谥大圆广慧国师、佛智常照国师。后世尊为黄檗山中兴之祖。所著除前述外，尚有洗云集十卷、佛国高泉禅师语录八卷、山堂清话三卷，及东渡诸祖传、法华略集、翰墨禅、高泉禅师语录、有马温泉记、释门孝传等各一卷。
