Exceptional altar table - China, Shanxì Province - elm wood with remnant of lacquer. Altar Table in northern elm wood (Northern Elm - Yumu) with traces of lacquer. Particularly relevant and rare piece for the time (end of the Ming dynasty - beginning of the Qing dynasty - 17th - 18th century). The elegant and at the same time austere form is inspired by the Song period, revived by cabinet makers during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The legs end in a clear hoof-shaped foot.
