赏析：此竹雕笔筒，周身通景雕刻，下以竹节横膈为底，承三矮足。器色如秋枣，包浆油亮自然。器身以陷地深刻，薄地阳文等技法，刻通景式“指日高升”图纹，画面山深林密、怪岩重迭，古松虬曲茂密，松荫下有三耆老的背影，其中一人更振臂高举、手指前方，其他两人不约而同抬头仰望，天际中白云环绕，红日浮现，一派祥瑞之景。《韩愈送刘师服诗》有云：「还家虽阙短，指日亲晨餐」，故指日高升，意即不日升官，寓意吉祥。笔筒纹饰构图明朗，宾主虚实分明，布局疏密有序，其人物景致精刻细琢，线条刻工深峻，宛若天成，文人高雅之气溢于言表，勘为竹雕笔筒之精品。
