这一对香炉以两块完美无瑕的白玉和青玉制成，造型皆师古，轮廓圆润丰满，活环象耳。其纹饰取自青铜器，但又以柔美曲线做替换进行了二次创作。不同之处在于，青玉炉为乳钉足钟形盖，腹微鼓，盖上有镂雕龙纹，造型更内敛；而白玉炉则为卷足圆盖，素面无纹，阔肩敛腹，造型略外放。两尊玉炉好似阴阳两极，阴阳调和，又和而不同。
