金刚持是藏传佛教各教派崇奉的重要本尊，代表证悟圆满觉性究竟的本质。此尊束高发髻，顶置金刚杵头，戴形如弯月的五叶宝冠。面容清隽，容貌庄严，目光安详慈悲。躯体壮硕有力，钏镯等各种饰物一应俱全，双手置胸前交叉，左手持金刚铃，右手持金刚杵，象征智慧与方便的结合。下身着紧身裙裤，上有突出线状条纹装饰，结跏趺坐于双层束腰莲台之上。整像镀金亮丽，比例匀称，造像细节带有典型尼泊尔艺术风范，但细节又展现出藏族的审美意趣，与 16 世纪卫藏地区的造像如出一辙，具有极高的艺术价值。
