Two Chinese Bronze Figures of the Luohans Ananda and Kasyapa Each disciple standing on a lotus pedestal wearing a long sleeved flowing robes wrapped around the body, wearing serene expressions beneath their shaven heads flanked by pendulous ears, Kasyapa, his hands joined at the chest in nebina ghasso symbolising a sincere and firm heart, Ananda, the taller figure with hands raised and locked together in the kanjo-in mudra to accompany the ceremony of unction, the robes of both figures with remains of gold lacquer and patination on the smaller figure and blue pigment on the larger figure. Period: Ming. Height: 19 and 21 cm.
