Chinese Blue and White " Monk Cap" Ewer and Cover. Of compressed globular form, rising to a broad slightly flared neck and a stepped-rim of 'monk's cap' shape; decorated with medallions of floral and scrolling lotus. All above a suspended Ruyi-head band with further lotus and encircling Tibetan inscription; with wide strap handle also painted with ruyi, and a jewelled lappet band encircling the ring foot.
