It’s exterior is covered in a floral design which sits atop a blue ground and is accompanied by three symbols painted in gold. It has a distinct foot which is painted in pink and red strips. It’s underside has six symbols painted in red. The interior has a sheer teal over-glazed which thins as it approaches the gold painted rim. Primarily used for steamed side dishes, the bowl has a flattened well alongside an elongated rim which allows its user to easily stack solid foods. Its lid has a circular knob which is hallow and flat, allowing the owner to use it as a soy sauce bowl. Both pieces are made of porcelain, have a white under-glaze and figurative illustrations. The bowl features an illustration of a male and female who appear against a wooded background accompanied with text. The lid features a single female who sits against a tree. H:3 1/4in.
