A purple-grey ink stone with dark distressed lacquer box & lid, all with coordinating scalloped edges, all etched with Chinese characters - Those on the lid of seal style variety & gilded, those on the stone in three columns of handwritten variety. L: 8 1/2" (21.6cm) Condition: the ink stone is in good condition,the box with several minor nicks, the lacquer coating here seems to have been intentionally distressed as the cracks reveal underlying red lacquer partially filled with gilt coloration.
