此为砚屏之屏心，以祁阳石雕饰而成，作板状，体长方。正面雕以“牧马图”纹。祁阳石系出湖南永州祁阳，因内部呈多色分层结构而常雕为屏，或有大小，在清代广为盛行。砚屏为古代文房常备之器，用以遮尘避光，以免砚墨干涸凝固而不利书写。以祁阳石为屏古来有之，明清极盛。“芷江”，“山伯”印款。
