端石，砚做古琴状，其砚尾为古琴之首，之上雕琢有岳山，其上琴身为正圆形，做砚，中间设有砚冈突出亦为正圆形，受墨处微凹，其周环挖为渠，砚首为古琴之尾，其上有深挖如庙宇状的墨池，其内侧亦作深挖空间宽敞，可做水丞之用。其周浮雕夔龙纹做对称雕琢，与墨池之下两首相对。墨池之上首雕有龙龈，砚之边缘环围装饰有方折的云雷纹。砚底平阔，以古琴之雁足于护轸做四足。其内有圆形开光，构图繁缛，工艺精妙，足配案头。配红木砚盒来源:国内重要藏家旧藏，附退赔标签
