此瓶敞口，束颈，长腹微鼓，至胫部内收，圈足，形似橄榄，故称“橄榄瓶”。瓶外壁通体施霁红釉，橄榄瓶为清代时期的典型器，始创于顺治朝，康熙有烧造，雍正、乾隆时最为常见。造型有两种，器身光素，或器身呈瓜棱状，器形隽美。此瓶的施釉，细润光亮，造型秀颀，经典地显示了御窑造器严苛的线条追求，即以一种象生学概念，设计器身一寸一厘的线条，在塑形上，达到无可挑剔的流畅与优雅。其线条的完美，自然无痕地造成霁红釉有一种流光溢彩的动势。
