An 18th century Scandinavian silver peg tankard, probably Danish, and possibly by Asmus Fridrich Holling, circa 1730, cylindrical form, the hinged cover set with an Austrian silver Thaler of 1623, and with a rampant lion and ball thumb-piece, scroll handle with chasing around the mount, on three foliate capped claw and ball feet, the underside of the base inscribed, height 19.5cm, approx. weight 23.2oz.
