Four items: a pair of glossy 10 x 8 photos, one depicting the crew of the Question Mark, a modified Atlantic-Fokker C-2A transport airplane, and the other showing the Question Mark being refueled mid-flight, both signed in black felt tip by Ira Eaker, and in black ballpoint by Elwood 'Pete' Quesada; a two-page 'Biographical Sketch' of Lt. Gen. Eaker, 8.5 x 11, signed at the conclusion in black felt tip, "Ira Eaker, Lt. Gen. USAF (Ret.)"; and a TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, October 18, 1971, in part: "In response to your recent letter, there is inclosed the autographed photograph you requested." In overall fine condition. Eaker and Quesada, along with Carl Spaatz, developed and demonstrated air-to-air refueling in 1929 on the Question Mark, with all of the crew members receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross for their participation in the mission.Format: Group lot
