Durfee, Renaissance Revival Carved Oak Tall Case Tube Clocklate 19th century, silverplate and gilt engrvaed face with moon dial, with subsidiray dial, with strike and chime dial with choice of eight bells or Westminster chimes, face marked for retailer Henry A. Turner & Co. Boston, works stamped "Walter H. Durfee Providence RI", ornately carved with an acanthus leaf and scrolled pediment, hinged tombstone door with Greek key surround, flanked by fully carved tapered columns, hinged glazed waist door flanked by relief carved column surmounted by bust of a woman, lower relief carved panel with gadrooned edge, raised on carved paw feet, with pendulum and weights. 100 x 27 x 19 in. From the home of Durham philanthropist and banker, John Sprint Hill, and his wife, Annie Watts Hill, whom was the only daughter of George W.
