Shipping manifest for the Hudson Bay Company brigantine Mary Dare, under the command of William Alexander Mouat (1821-1871), dated in Fort Victoria, February 10, 1852. The cargo, listed as "1 Cogshead", "3 Cases", "3 Bales", "30 Barrels", and more, was shipped by James Douglas Esquire, Chief Factor in the Hudson's Bay Company service, from Port Victoria, Vancouver Island to Fort Nisqually. Signed by Moufat below. 14 5/8" H x 9 1/2" W. Mid 19th century. Note: The 'Mary Dare' was used to develop the Pacific Northwest from Astoria to Alaska under the ownership of the Hudson's Bay Company.
