Biography: Carl Krafft painted landscapes in primarily the Mid West including Illinois and Brown County, Indiana. In 1912 he visited the Ozarks of South Central Missouri with fellow painter Rudolph Ingerle and the two eventually established an important art colony there called the Society of Ozark Painters. Krafft also founded the Municipal Art League in Springfield, Missouri and the Oak Park Art League.
