Late Chippendale/early Federal period blanket chest, cherry with poplar secondary, possibly an early Tennessee or Kentucky piece. Rectangular molded top with cleated ends over a dovetailed case with interior till, original iron strap hinges. Kite shaped inlaid escutcheon. Base with dovetailed bracket feet joined by a carved skirt with spur returns. 22 7/8" H x 41 3/4" W x 18 1/2" D. Circa 1800.
