LI Xiongcai is a Chinese, 20th century, male. Born 1910. Painter. Li Xiongcai was a painter from Guangdong Province. He belonged to the Lingnan Pai School, a movement tending towards the traditional founded by Gao Jianfu in Guangzhou. Li Xiongcai was a pupil of the latter, and like other members of this School completed his education in Japan. His landscapes have more energy than those usually found in this group and he seems less concerned than others with achieving a systematic synthesis between western and oriental arts.
