A GILT-DECORATED POWDER-BLUE GLAZED BALUSTER VASE, KANGXI China, 1661-1722. The vase of hexagonal baluster form, the body finely painted in gold with mountainous landscape scenes on each side, separated by bamboo, the waisted neck with further bamboo on one side and a vase with lotus on the other, flanked by stylized dragon handles. Condition: The handles and neck with restorations, significant wear to the gilding. Provenance: From the collection of Georg Weifert (1850-1937). Thence by descent in the same family. Weifert was a Serbo-Austrian industrialist and the first governor of the Federal Bank of the Kingdom of Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia. Weight: 3,408 g. Dimensions: Height 40.7 cm.
