A 20thC composite sculpture of the Madonna and Child, the Virgin Mary as Our Lady of Flanders holding the Infant Christ. Baby Jesus holds an orb, representing the world. Mary wears a floral crown and stands on a beast, symbolising the vanquishing of evil, and the Flemish lion and shield with coat of arms at her feet. Indistinct script to base. Approx. 23'' high.
