A Chinese famille rose porcelain plate dating to the early 19th century. The plate depicts a farm scene with 7 figures, and includes 2 inscriptions, each with 3 seals. The bottom of the plate has a 6-character mark, and the exterior features 4 bats. Dimensions are: 1 in. tall X 7 in. diameter. Condition: The rim has 2 chips and 3 hairline cracks. Provenance: From the estate of Frederick C. McMillen. Mr. McMillen was sent to China by the US government after WWII to oversee rebuilding projects funded by UN grants.
