A pair of Chinese ruby ground porcelain planters with trays, dating from the Republic period. The planters have a six-character mark on the bottom and are decorated with three famille rose landscape roundels. Dimensions are: 8 in. tall X 9 in. wide; 20.3 cm tall X 22.9 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Stained; small cracks. Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Kwok Woon Kun, formerly a shareholder of Wing On Company, a well-known department store group in Hong Kong and Shanghai. This collection was collected in Hong Kong prior to Mr. Kwok's death in 1969. His collection was shipped to Canada in 1981 and was inherited by Mr. Kwok’s daughter and grandson. Lot 229-285 from our auction on Sept 6th, 2019 were from the same estate.
