A Chinese bronze gu vase dating to the 18th century. The vase depicts taotie masks with a band of stylized beast above it. The neck shows a banana leaf border with engaged sculptural elements on each corner. The foot features a pair of beasts on each face. Dimensions are: 9 1/4 in. tall X 5 in. wide; 23.5 cm tall X 12.7 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Wear to the gilt and oxidation to the metal, one corner element is missing.
