A large and impressive Masons Ironstone two handled pot pourri vase and cover, c.1815-25, of octagonal baluster form, one side moulded in relief with the figure of a dragon and butterflies, the reverse modelled in relief with a prunus tree with applied flowers, all on a gilt scrollwork cobalt blue ground, the neck moulded with a pair of dragon handles and the pierced cover with a dragon finial, unmarked, H.63cm cf. Godden's Guide to Masons China and the Ironstone Wares plates 279 and 280 for similar examples of this model, but lacking the modelled decoration to the bodies.
