Fine & Rare English Turnbridge Ware Writing Desk & Sewing Table Commissioned for Queen Victoria as a young princess. Inventory stamp B.P. / V.R. 1866 (Buckingham Palace / Victoria Regina). Brass paw feet and exotic marquetry. The table has approximately 80 different woods including coromandel, amboyna, purpleheart, and several now extinct varieties. Ht. 32 1/2" W 24" D 19" Originally in Buckingham Palace, London. Sold 1985 at Bonhams in London, by an English Buyer. Purchased by M. S. Rau Antiques, New Orleans, Louisiana.
