Pair of late 19th Century green-glazed majolica plaques, each of circular form with cavorting cherubs, three riding mythical scaly sea creatures, the other three beside a mythical bird, unmarked, 40.5cm and 41.5cm diameter Condition: Larger example (sea creatures) has flake loss to garment of cherub on left side as per image plus a flake to border between 12 and 1 o'clock, general minor wear to reverse but otherwise sound, smaller example (bird) has some kiln inclusions at 11 o'clock and 2 o'clock to border, old loss to same at 5 o'clock, rubbing to high points of eagle's wing and crest as per images plus a few other kiln inclusions - **General condition consistent with age
