Phyllis Dawson - a group of twenty-six finely engraved woodcut and metal-faced printing blocks, mostly landscape views, one depicting a harbour scene, 10cm x 13cm. Note: Phyllis Dawson (1903-1993) was an illustrator and wood engraver. Born in London, she went on to study at Clapham School of Art with William Washington, then at Canterbury School of Art under John Austen. Many of her woodcuts depict her garden in Barham or the interior of the antique shop where she lived in Palace Street, Canterbury, as well as the local environs.
