Jorn died in 1973, the devastating news Dotremont who will pay homage to him through several works including our ink drawing presented here."I learned of his death a few days ago. ...there were only excerpts from Danish newspapers, one title jumped out at me: "Asger Jorn dód" and I burst into tears. [...] Jorn died without suffering, he had just drunk some wine, had spoken for about twenty minutes, had fallen asleep, he died in that sleep. [...] You're right, this news of Jorn's death damages this stay, this trip [to Ivalo]. But we must continue to live and work. Working all the more so as he died, Cobra's art must continue to develop further"Letter to Jacques Calonne dated 10 May 1973 in Ivalo.
