Christian Dotremont and Asger Jorn co-founded the CoBrA group in 1948, in response to the binary vision of art that contrasts abstraction and figuration. Closely related by friendship, the Belgian and the Danish collaborate together on several projects, in particular for the book entitled "La chevelure des choses" (preface by Pierre Alechinsky) or the spontaneous word paintings and word drawings. Jorn died in 1973, the devastating news Dotremont who will pay homage to him through several works including our ink drawing presented here."I learned of his death a few days ago. ...there were only excerpts from Danish newspapers, one title jumped out at me: "Asger Jorn dód" and I burst into tears. [...] Jorn died without suffering, he had just drunk some wine, had spoken for about twenty minutes, had fallen asleep, he died in that sleep. [...] You're right, this news of Jorn's death damages this stay, this trip [to Ivalo]. But we must continue to live and work.
