A Wedgwood pottery cream cooler and cover, circa 1825, the off-white glazed body of U-shape, flanked by loop handles on a spreading circular foot, inscribed in gilded block capitals 'CREAM', the cover with central necked aperture, impressed uppercase mark to foot, height 25cm. Note: a whole plethora of wares for dairy use were produced by the Wedgwood factory. A similar shaped example is illustrated by Robin Reilly and George Savage in 'The Dictionary of Wedgwood', p.113. The aperture in the cover would be to accommodate a spoon. Buyer’s Premium 29.4% (including VAT @ 20%) of the hammer price.
