A large Iznik pottery dish with three large blue flowers, Ottoman Turkey, late 16th-early 17th century, of shallow form, underglaze painted in cobalt and turquoise on a slightly bluish-white ground, with central spray of flowers to interior well surrounded by a wave and cloud design, the slightly everted rim with a zig-zag design filled with partial flowerheads, 33.5cm. diam. Provenance: Private Collection, Greece Intact, with hairline crack extending from rim towards centre approx. 6 cm. long, losses to glaze on rim, four holes drilled to base
