A large brass rice measure or water container, Brunei, dated 1323AH/1905/06AD, of cylindrical form with a plain c-scroll handle, the plain body with a raised inscribed cartouche of Jawi script (Malay script written with Arabic alphabet) containing the words The Brunei Just King and date of 1323AH, 16.5cm. high x 18.7cm. diam. This grain measurer was made during the reign of the Brunei King Hashim Jalilul Alam Aqamaddin Ibni Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien II. The King was the 25th Sultan of Brunei his reign was from 1885-1906 AD.He was also known as Pengiran Temenggong Sahibul Bahar Pengiran Anak Hashim. Please refer to department for condition report
