Chinese Tibetan Ming Dynasty gilt bronze Amitabha Buddha. Finest, Chinese Qing Dynasty Bronze Tibetan Bodhisattvas figure of Amitayus Buddha. The Buddha of Immortal Life also known as Aparamitayus. Amitabha appearing in the sambhogakaya form, enjoyment body of a buddha. Buddha is shown seated in meditative posture with legs folded in Dhyasana and the hands held in Samadhi mudra, symbolic of the Buddha's entry into a state of profound meditation upon a lotus blossom throne. The face has an appropriately serene expression, one face, two hands, and with two long eyes glancing with compassion on beings, with downcast eyes under delicately arched brows and suggestion of a smile of contentment. The hair is arranged in rows of coils that also cover the ushnisha, the protuberance on the head. The drapery is cast in elegant pleats falling from the shoulders to the lap and pooling across the folded legs, seated in vajra posture upon a double lotus throne. Extensive trace of gilt. The underside with incised Quatre-foil flori-form petals visvavajra mark surrounded the centralized DaiJi.
