Renaissance Revival paw-foot office table. New York, NY, circa 1880. With a black leather inset writing surface above a molded revival style apron with lion mask corners above an "X" form pierced stretcher and detailed legs, resting on raised paw feet. H: 29 in. L: 73 in. W: 42 in. PROVENANCE: Previously in the collection of the Brooklyn Historical Society. Purchased for use in the Long Island Historical Society, now the Brooklyn Historical Society, at 128 Pierrepont Street, which opened in 1881. It was used in the Society's Director's Office from the 1930s to the 1970s.
