Arabic manuscript on beige paper of 82 leaves, 21 lines per page calligraphed in black ink in "nasta'liq" on paper, two hands. Important words underlined in red ink, and several diagrams in red. Wear, wetness, tears. Bound in brown morocco.

The author, Qâdi Zâda Al-Rûmî (1364 -1436) known as Salah al-Din Musa Pasha, was one of the principal astronomers of the famous Samarkand Observatory, under the patronage of the astronomer and ruler Ulugh Beg (d. in 1449). This treatise, dedicated to the Timurid ruler Ulugh Beg, comments on a work by Al-Jaghmin, a renowned Persian mathematician and astronomer, who died in 1221.
