A tourmaline-set 'Flowering Wall' necklace and a pair of cultured pearl earrings, by Bjorn Weckstrom for Lapponia, the tapered rectangular textured openwork 'wall' pendant set with a series of green tourmaline crystal drops, to a textured shaped triangular surmount and matching rectangular link neck chain, signed Lapponia with maker's mark, also signed Bjorn, Finnish assay marks for 1973, length 53.5cm; the earrings of textured abstract panel design with single cultured pearl, signed Bjorn with maker's mark for Lapponia, screw fittings, length 1.2cm (3) Born in Helsinki in 1935, Bjorn Weckstrom graduated from the Finnish Goldsmith’s school, Helsinski, in 1956. In 1963 the founder of Lapponia, Pekka Antilla, employed him as his new designer, a role Weckstrom continues to fulfil today. In 1965 Lapponia entered the International Jewellery Contest in Rio de Janeiro and Weckström’s 'Flowering Wall' necklace won the Grand Prix receiving worldwide recognition for the company and himself. Necklace - overall condition good with surface scratches and minor nicks, some very light scuffing to reverse of pendant. Clasp closes securely. Some rubbing to tourmalines, terminals unpolished. Pendant reverse stamped 750. Gross weight approx. 79.9g Earrings - overall condition good with some surface scratches and minor nicks. Cultured pearls with good lustre, some typical surface blemishes. Screw fittings stamped 585. Gross weight approx. 4.3g
