Wang Jingwei,£Â¨1883£Â1944), born as Wang Zhaoming, but widely known by his pen name "Jingwei", was a Chinese politician. When he was young, he participated in the revolutionary organization China Alliance . In 1910, he was arrested andsentenced to life imprisonment for his failure to assassinate the Qing regent Wang Zaiyu ; he was released after the 1911 Revolution . In his early years, he served as the secretary and courage of Sun Wen. After the death of Sun Wen, hesuccessively served as chairman of the National Government, chairman of the Military Commission, president of the Executive Yuan , vice chairman of the National Defense Supreme Council , and vice president of the Chinese Kuomintang . Until thebeginning of the Chinese Anti-Japanese War , it was one of Chiang Kai-shek 's main political opponents.On March 30, 1940, Wang cooperated with Japan to establish the Wang Jingwei regime in Nanjing.
