V-VI. 4to. iv, (210)-688, 16, (689)-832, 208 pp. Including the March 17, 1897 issue featuring an editors response to a letter written by a 16-year old Wodehouse on p. 476, possibly the earliest reference to Wodehouse in print. In it, the editor addresses two questions posed by Wodehouse, on the subjects of the appropriate hour of bed-time and the best means of staying fit. Illustrated with color frontispiece, 11 plates, and one large folding plate. Brown pebbled cloth-covered boards, front board detached, rear board detached but original ties intact, edges worn, spine ends worn, stamped in gilt; all edges trimmed; spotting to endpapers, text evenly toned, scattered short closed tears and creasing to edges, last leaf and rear free endpaper sprung. Not in McIlvaine. Written to the editor of Chums when Wodehouse was 16-years old and attending Dulwich College. Scarce.
