[Wodehouse, P.G.] Cricket Scoring Book Leigh Park Cricket Club, 1903-44. Includes a match on August 16, 1912, between Leigh Park Cricket Club and an unnamed side which included Wodehouse and his friend and frequent collaborator, Herbert Westbrook. Wodehouse was apparently the star bowler, capturing 6 wickets, 3 bowled and 3 caught and bowled. The visitors reached 66 for 7 so the result was a draw. Westbrook would become the inspiration for the character Ukridge in Wodehouse’s novels. Together with: [Wodehouse, P.G.] Lowe. R.H. (editor) A Cricket Eleven: An Anthology of Cricket Short Stories With Verses London, (1927). First edition. 12mo. Includes Mike at Wrykyn, Mike at Sedleigh, and Sedleigh v. Wrykyn. Original covers and dust-jacket. McIlvaine E73.
