A Chinese gilt and lacquered bronze statue of a seated monk dating from the Ming dynasty. The monk is seated on a lotus pedestal with a red velvet stand. Dimensions are: 11 1/2 inches tall X 8 inches wide; 29.2 cm tall X 20.3 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Significant age wear including loss to the gilt, loss to the underlying metal, and a large area of damage to 1 side of the base. Provenance: From a private collection in Pennsylvania.
