盞敞口，口下有棱，深腹，圈足。內外施罩亮澤柿紅釉，發色如霜柿，色澤沉鬱古穆。盞內釉層凝厚飽滿，外壁釉不及底，近底處垂釉，圈足露胎處呈褐色。 日本稱之「灰被天目」，彷彿有一層灰質，具有獨特且與眾不同的美感，深受日本文士喜愛。
